Sometimes there's nothing you want more than a warm, moist pound cake. The simplest of cakes to make. Do you know why it's called a pound cake? History says that it took a pound each of flour, butter, eggs, and sugar to make the cake, giving it the name. We won't be using that much for this recipe, but it'll still be as delicious!
-1 and 3/4 cup flour
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-2 teaspoons baking powder
-1/2 cup granulated sugar
-3/4 cup softened unsalted butter
-1 and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
-2/3 cup milk
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 9x 5 inch loaf pan and set aside. Mix all the dry ingredients and set aside. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time and beat until thoroughly mixed. Next add the vanilla and mix again. Add 1/2 of the dry ingredients, mix and then add 1/2 of the milk and mix again. Repeat these two steps until all ingredients are combined. Scoop batter into loaf pan and bake for about 1 hour or until a fork comes out clean when inserted in the center.
