My last blog post was published in June 2021. Five months ago! It's been quite a busy period for us to say the least. We have been house hunting for the past 6 months and finally purchased our dream home! What a ride it has been, and a ride filled with so many ups and downs. I am thankful for 3 things. The amazing individuals we met along the way (our real estate agent, house inspector, and the seller of the home), our two, very patient toddlers who were a part of the house hunting journey (they are troopers!), and my husband who has been my rock throughout this very stressful period.
You may ask, why was this exciting journey stressful? Well, it's a sellers market out there for everything which means home prices are sky high and some aren't even in the best condition (appliances haven't been replaced, old stained carpets, mold, etc.). However, there are people that are still buying these run-down homes regardless and so sellers don't have any incentive to negotiate terms. Our seller however, was interested in finding the right family for the first home she decided to flip. Her sole goal was for the family who purchases the home to enjoy living there. She completely renovated the house, complete with new, modern appliances, new hardwood floors, new roofing, etc. There were definitely some hiccups along the way, but we managed to close on our dream home. We are so extremely grateful to God for guiding us along this journey. Prayer is what got us through it. I keep a journal where I documented some of my goals for 2021 and one of the biggest ones on there was to become a homeowner of our dream home in 2021. I detailed all the things I wanted in that home very specifically and it all came true! I hope you will continue to follow me along as we make this house our home. My dream is to continue to make many happy memories here with my family.
